It’s being billed as the U.S. vs. Canada at World Series of Fighting 14 this Saturday night, and it will feature the promotional debut of Jake Shields.

Set for the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Shields will face Ryan Ford in the main event on NBC Sports Network. Ford is the current Canadian welterweight champion for the WSOF.

Shields (29-7-1) was forced out of a meeting with Jon Fitch due to injury and is coming off a March decision loss to Hector Lombard. Following the defeat, the former Strikeforce champion was released by the UFC, where he had gone 4-3 with one no-contest.

Ford (22-4) has won six straight, including three straight finishes. He last fought in February, knocking out Joel Powell in just 53 seconds.

The co-main event will see Derrick Mehmen battle Smealinho Rama for the vacant heavyweight title. Other planned main card bouts include Chris Horodecki vs. Luis Huete and Jared Hamman vs. Luke Harris.
