UFC 178 Official Weigh-In Results

ufc 178

The official fighter weigh-ins for Saturday’s UFC 178: Johnson vs. Cariaso event right here on FightLine went down from Las Vegas earlier today, making things official.

In the main event, Demetrious Johnson defends his flyweight title against Chris Cariaso, while Donald Cerrone welcomes Eddie Alvarez to the Octagon in the co-main. Conor McGregor-Dustin Poirier, Tim Kennedy-Yoel Romero and Cat Zingano-Amanda Nunes round out the pay-per-view main card that begins at 10 p.m. ET.

Johnson, seeking a fifth successful title defense, tipped the scale at 124.5 pounds. Cariaso, making his first scheduled five-round fight, came in at the exact same weight. Both Alvarez (155) and Cerrone (155) made weight, as did the rest of the card.

Zingano and Nunes had one of the more intense face-to-face moments – outside of the McGregor-Poirier final confrontation, which was amplified by the pro-Irish crowd in attendance.

The prelims include the return of former UFC and WEC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, who has not fought since 2011. “The Dominator” weighed in at 134 pounds for his bout with Takeya Mizugaki.

we can only imagine how fuckig fly this card would have been with JJ vs DC as the main event. I mean, it’s already the best PPV card i’ve seen in a long time, so excited for so many fights. if it just had that one big fight for the main event, it would be like the old days again. gutted.
nothing against Demetrious Johnson, just don’t care if i ever get to see him fight

I like Mighty Mouse, but I just seem to always forget that he’s the title holder, I kinda think most people do. UFC announces that he will defend his belt, and people are like what belt? Oh ya he’s a champ isn’t he?
