Melvin Manhoef can forget about fighting Paul Daley for now, as he earned himself a future middleweight title shot by finishing Doug Marshall Friday night at Bellator 125.

Initial plans involving Manhoef had him facing Daley if he got by Marshall. However, it was announced following the fight that he will face the winner of Alexander Shlemenko-Brandon Halsey next.

“Where is Scott (Coker), I want to kiss him,” said Manhoef, when told of the title shot. “I love you man and thank you very much. I will not let you down.”

In the co-main event, Rafael Carvahlo earned a victory over Brian Rogers, while Javy Ayala and Goiti Yamauchi were main card winners, as well.
