Two lightweight bouts have been added to the UFC 179 lineup, as Beneil Dariush takes on Alan Patrick and Yan Cabral faces Naoyuki Kotani.

Set for October 25 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Maracanazinho Gymnasium, the event features Jose Aldo defending his featherweight title against Chad Mendes. Other previously announced fights include Phil Davis vs. Glover Teixeira and Scott Jorgensen vs. Wilson Reis.

Dariush (8-1) has won two of three inside the Octagon, as the 25-year-old Iranian has topped Tony Martin and Charlie Brenneman. However, this past April, he suffered his first career loss when he was stopped by Ramsey Nijem.

Patrick (12-0) made his UFC debut with a TKO win over Garett Whiteley last year and followed up by earning a decision over John Makdessi. He is a former Bitetti Combat lightweight champion.

Cabral (11-1) has split his two Octagon appearances, defeating David Mitchell and falling to Zak Cummings. Kotani (33-11-7) is winless in three fights with the UFC, including a recent loss to Norman Parke. He is in his second stint with the promotion.
