Two more featherweights have joined the October UFC 179 card, as Felipe Arantes takes on Andre Fili.

Set for October 25 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Maracanazinho Gymnasium, the event features Jose Aldo defending his featherweight title against Chad Mendes in the headline bout. Other previously announced fights include Phil Davis-Glover Teixeira and Scott Jorgensen-Wilson Reis.

Arantes (16-6-1) has posted a 3-2-1 UFC record in six fights. The 26-year-old nicknamed “Sertanejo” has fought each of his last six bouts in Brazil, including a February decision vs. Maximo Blanco.

Arantes also holds wins over Godofredo Pepey and Antonio Carvalho inside the Octagon, while he lost to Kevin Souza via split decision and Iuri Alcantara via decision in his debut. A 2012 draw was declared vs. Milton Vieira.

Fili (13-2) is a member of Team Alpha Male and suffered his first loss in four years when he was submitted by Max Holloway in April. Prior to that, “Touchy” had defeated Jeremy Larsen via TKO at UFC 166 and was on a nine-fight win streak.
