Carlos Diego Ferreira answered Ramsey Nijem’s in-your-face attitude Saturday night at UFC 177, stopping him in the second round.

Ferreira earned a second round TKO victory after dropping the former Ultimate Fighter runner-up, landing several uncontested shots before the referee stepped in to call the action.

“I’ve been working hard on my feet and my striking,” he said. “It surprised me how he came at me. He stopped me in the first, but in the second, I knew he wasn’t going to stop me anymore.”

Ferreira (11-0) picked up a win in his debut with the UFC earlier this year, defeating a former Ultimate Fighter winner in Colton Smith. This time, he showed more of his offense and his well-rounded skills, engaging in several striking attacks and ground moves with Nijem.

Nijem is now 8-5 in his career.
