Ryan Bader did what Ryan Bader does best Saturday night: out-wrestle the competition.

The former Arizona State University standout dominated Ovince St. Preux in the main event of UFC Fight Night 47 from Maine, earning his third consecutive victory.

Bader, an ex-Ultimate Fighter winner, used numerous takedowns to control the former Tennessee Volunteer football player.

“It was a tough fight,” he said. “OSP is tough, really tough. I had to rely on my takedowns at the end. My hands were a little slow, but I got it done.”

“Darth” stated that he has “some injuries” to take care of before returning. His wife is also expecting a child early next month.

“I’ll be back,” he said. “(I’ll get healthy) and go from there.”

Since a loss to Glover Teixeira in Brazil last September, Bader (18-4) has earned decisions over OSP, Rafael Cavalcante and Anthony Perosh. He is 6-2 in his last eight fights overall.

St. Preux (16-6) suffered his first UFC loss and had his five-fight win streak snapped with the defeat.
