UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo currently has his plate full.

Along with a title fight vs. Chad Mendes later this year at UFC 179, Aldo is also staring at either Cub Swanson or Frankie Edgar in 2015 as a possible contender.

However, one name continues to pop up wherever the UFC – and Aldo – go: Conor McGregor. The Irish fighter meets Dustin Poirier next month at UFC 178, and “Scarface” already feels he is well on his way to following in the footsteps of a former title contender.

“I see his words as a normal thing,” said Aldo, during an interview with Globo. “He’s like a new (Chael) Sonnen. He’s building his name. He has just a few fights in the UFC and he’s trying to jump the line.

“He for sure has already done this, because he talks so much. He speaks very well, I think he’ll reach his goals very fast. About the belt, someday we’ll meet and then we’ll see who is who.”

Sonnen fought twice for the UFC middleweight title and once for the light heavyweight belt despite going just 7-7 inside the Octagon.
