Former Strikeforce champion and UFC No. 1 contender Jake Shields will make his World Series of Fighting debut against Ryan Ford, according to a report by Top MMA News.

Shields and Ford will compete in the main event of WSOF 14 on October 11 from Alberta’s Northlands Expo Centre. The main card will air on NBC Sports Network.

Shields (29-7-1) was originally scheduled to face Jon Fitch last month, but an injury in training knocked him out of the fight. He was released by the UFC after falling to Hector Lombard.

Ford (22-4) is on a six-fight win streak that includes a victory for the WSOF Canadian welterweight title. He previously lost twice to Pat Healy and once to current Bellaotr champion Douglas LIma.
