UFC president Dana White simply said the process of signing Gina Carano to a contract is “complicated.” That, though, doesn’t mean White is giving up.

During the UFC on FOX 12 post-fight press conference this past weekend, White was asked about the status of Carano. Previously, he had stated plans to get a contract signed while meeting Carano in California.

“I’m still working on it,” White said. “That’s all I can say.

“It’s complicated. I’m very positive about it, but it’s complicated.”

Carano (7-1) turned 32 years old in April and has not fought since a 2009 loss to Cris Cyborg. She decided to leave MMA at that time, embarking on a movie career that includes roles in films like “Fast & Furious 6,” “Haywire” and “In the Blood.”

Rumors of a Ronda Rousey-Carano title fight in December have circulated for weeks, but White was not ready to discuss any such fight without having Carano signed to a contract.
