Brian Houston has had trouble keeping a fight scheduled this year.

Houston has agreed to meet Carl Perry on August 29 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Century Link Center, the fighter told FightLine recently.

He’ll be fighting under the Omaha Fight Club banner in preparation for a planned bout in October of this year.

“I’m coming back to Omaha,” Houston wrote on Instagram. “It’s the 100th show and I’m honored to be a part of it. Thank you Tim Bazer for helping a guy continue his run.”

The native of Omaha, Houston (4-2) hasn’t competed since a January loss to Trevor Smith at UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Philippou. That bout came after he stepped in on short notice and fought Derek Brunson in 2013.

Houston, a standout college football player, started his MMA career with four straight wins – including three first round finishes in a row.
