Ian McCall believes he has what it takes to defeat Demetrious Johnson.
Back in 2012, McCall fought Johnson to a draw in a bout that he was originally ruled the winner of. In the rematch, though, it was “Mighty Mouse” who got his hand raised.
Johnson went on to win the UFC flyweight title, while McCall has strung together back-to-back wins after a decision over Brad Pickett Saturday at UFC Fight Night 46.
“Demetrious, I’m coming for you,” McCall said. “I’m gonna come get you. Remember the last time; I laid you out on the mat.
“But Demetrious has a fight, so whoever else, I’ll fight anybody.”
McCall admitted that he used pre-fight trash talk to get inside the head of Pickett. Once the action started, “Uncle Creepy’s” wrestling was the difference, as he controlled the tempo.
“I knew he wouldn’t be able to take me down,” McCall said. “I’ll maybe let him hit me a few too many times. But I pushed his buttons and it worked. All is fair in love and war.”
