Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has a date set for his return.

But he’s keeping quiet.

Cruz, who hasn’t fought since 2011, posted on Twitter that he has been cleared to return. Following two knee surgeries, “The Dominator” suffered a groin strain earlier this year, canceling his planned unification match with Renan Barao.

“NOTHING has made me more excited in a long time than hearing a fight date from Sean Shelby,” Cruz posted. “Ask him tho-cuz I can’t release it.”

UFC officials stripped him of his title when the latest injury happened. Cruz (19-1) hasn’t lost since a 2007 submission defeat at the hands of Urijah Faber.

UPDATE: Shortly after Cruz posted the message, it was confirmed by ESPN that he will be facing Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 178 on September 27 from Las Vegas.

“I’m excited to finally be back,” Cruz said. “It’s been a long time coming, but I feel great and I’m already training hard.”
