Two middleweights looking to inch closer to the top of the division will meet at UFC 178, as Tim Kennedy squares off with Yoel Romero.

Set for September 27 from Las Vegas, the card features a rematch between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. The Kennedy-Romero bout was first reported by the Las Vegas Journal-Review.

Kennedy (18-4) pushed his win streak to four with a decision victory over Michael Bisping earlier this year. The Strikeforce veteran and Army Ranger has also defeated Roger Gracie and Rafael Natal as of late.

Over the past several months, Kennedy has been very outspoken against the use of performance-enhancing drugs in MMA. On Twitter several days ago he posted, “I am not going to fight again unless my opponent and myself are being drug tested (random).”

Romero (8-1) owns a four-fight win streak of his own, including three via knockout. His finish run was halted by Brad Tavares in his most recent encounter, but he still earned the win.
