A welterweight contest has been added to UFC 176: Aldo vs. Mendes 2, as Alex Garcia welcomes Matt Dwyer to the Octagon.

Set for August 2 from Los Angeles, the event features a main event between UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and No. 1 contender Chad Mendes. Aldo defeated Mendes in the first meeting between the two.

Garcia (12-1) has won each of his last six fights, including two of those coming with the UFC. He earned a split decision over Sean Spencer in March after finishing Ben Wall last December.

Dwyer (7-1) is riding a five-fight win streak that includes a TKO over former UFC competitor DaMarques Johnson in May. All seven of his wins have been of the stoppage kind, including five in the opening round.
