Former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem has added one more part of Jon Jones’ team to his arsenal, agreeing to a new management deal with First Round Management.

Recently, Overeem worked out at Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA in New Mexico, the home gym of the UFC light heavyweight champion.

“I’m excited to announce this new deal with Malki Kawa and First Round Management,” said Overeem, in a press release. “Malki has built one of the best management companies in MMA, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together.”

Overeem, 34 years old, is coming off a decision victory over Frank Mir this past February. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Overeem, which came at the hands of Travis Browne and Antonio Silva.

“Alistair Overeem is one of the most accomplished heavyweight fighters in all of MMA,” Kawa said. “I’m excited to bring him on to the First Round Management team and show him exactly what we can provide an athlete of his nature.”

Overeem won the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix and is also a former DREAM heavyweight champion.
