Ben Askren’s ONE FC debut went just like the ex-U.S. Olympic wrestler had hoped, as he scored a submission victory over Bakhtiya Abbasov at ONE FC: Honor and Glory on Friday from Singapore.

Abbasov took Askren by surprise right off the bat, shooting in for a takedown against the former Bellator champion. After showing his skills on the mat, Askren reversed the course of action and dominated with ground-and-pound before locking in the choke.

For Askren (13-0), the finish was his third straight, as he earned two TKOs in Bellator last year. He is expected to challenge Nobutatsu Suzuki for the ONE FC welterweight title next.

In other action, Vincent Latoel defeated Eddie Ng and Jadambaa Narantungalag topped Honorio Banario.
