The UFC’s decision to return to Cincinnati paid off in a big way Saturday night, as UFC Fight Night 40 delivered several highlight-reel finishes.

In the main event, Matt Brown delighted his hometown crowd by earning a third round finish of Erick Silva for his seventh consecutive victory. Six of those seven wins have come by finish for “The Immortal.”

Costas Philippou claimed a co-main event win over Lorenz Larkin, while Daron Cruickshank stopped Erik Koch. On the prelims, Johnny Eduardo stunned former one-time UFC bantamweight title contender Eddie Wineland.

Bonuses were handed out to Brown and Silva, as they won “Fight of the Night.” Eduardo and Brown also picked up “Performance of the Night” awards. Brown totaled $100,000 for his effort, while Silva and Eduardo each won $50,000.

The attendance was 6,143 with a live gate of $415,000.
