Soa Palelei continued his run of finishes, stopping Ruan Potts at UFC Fight Night 40 with one thunderous shot. Palelei has won each of his last 11 fights via finish, including nine in the opening round.

Palelei (21-3) improved to 3-0 since returning to the UFC last year. He has stopped Potts, Pat Barry and Nikita Krylov.

“He was a tough competitor,” said Palelei, who broke out in a song during the post-fight interview with Jon Anik. “Anyone who fights in the UFC is tough. This ones for the crowd.”

Along with his Octagon wins, “The Hulk” has stopped Sean McCorkle and Bob Sapp during his recent win streak. Seven of his stoppage wins since 2011 have come in under two minutes.

Potts was making his UFC debut after winning the heavyweight title in Africa.
