Lucas Martins will take his talents to the featherweight division, meeting Jim Alers at UFC Fight Night 45. Officials announced the bout recently.

Set for July 16 from The Revel in Atlantic City, the card features a lightweight contest between Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller. Several other bouts have been signed.

Martins (14-1) has posted back-to-back victories inside the Octagon, knocking out Jeremy Larsen last May and submitting Junior Hernandez in September. He lost his debut with the promotion via submission at the hands of Edson Barboza.

Prior to joining the UFC, Martins won his first 12 fights, with all but one coming by either submission or knockout.

Alers (13-1) earned a victory in his debut by besting Alan Omer. The former Cage Warriors champion is on a nine-fight win streak. The 27-year-old owns nine submission wins to his credit, including eight in his last 12 fights.

Fights are expected to be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
