Khabib Nurmagomedov is down to fight Donald Cerrone, but it will have to wait until August.

News of a possible lightweight bout between the two contenders was made on “UFC Tonight” earlier this week, and while Cerrone is anxious to get back inside the Octagon, “The Eagle” wants more time off.

“I like that fight if it will be in August,” Nurmagomedov posted on Twitter.

Nurmagomedov (22-0) earned a decision victory over Rafael dos Anjos last month and asked for a title shot. However, the belt is currently held up with champion Anthony Pettis set to coach on The Ultimate Fighter 20 opposite challenger Gilbert Melendez. The two will than fight in December.

Cerrone (23-6) earned his third straight victory, all via finish, when he submitted Edson Barboza. He knocked out Adriano Martins to start the year and has stated several times he hopes to compete six times in 2014.
