The official weigh-ins for Bellator 118 went down earlier today, and there was trouble to be found.

Rafael Silva came in over for his interim bantamweight title fight with Joe Warren in Friday’s main event. Warren is on weight, while Silva needs to lose almost two pounds.

According to Jason Floyd of The MMA Report, if Silva cannot make weight, the bout will go on at a catchweight. If Warren wins, he will be the champion; if Silva wins, he will not win the title.

He wasn’t the only one, though, who failed to make weight. Sam Oropeza is over for his welterweight tournament semifinals, along with two prelim fighters.

UPDATE: The Warren-Silva bout will go on, but with the stipulation previously mentioned.

“Rafael Silva is a warrior. He was offered this opportunity three weeks ago when Dantas was injured. He had a tremendous amount of weight to cut and got incredibly close, but to push for the last two pounds would simply have been medically unsafe,” Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “Another great warrior here, Joe Warren made weight, so the belt remains in the line for Joe. We always have a contingency plan in place for instances like this, and we are moving ahead with this five-round fight which should be fireworks.”

Oropeza has been removed from the tournament and will be replaced by Justin Baesman.
