Anthony Johnson saw something on social media that made him upset.

Johnson, who defeated Phil Davis over the weekend in the co-main event of UFC 172, couldn’t believe that fans and backers of “Mr. Wonderful” were attacking him for his performance.

“Was (on) Twitter earlier and saw so called fans of Phil bashing him saying ‘You let me down’ (in my opinion) that’s wrong and you aren’t a true fan,” Johnson wrote. “Either love the sport or don’t or support a fighter thru thick and thin or not. He didn’t let you down you weren’t taking the punishment.”

Johnson dominated Davis for three rounds in his return to the UFC after being released. He stopped numerous takedown attempts by the former NCAA national champion.

“Rumble” also knows what it feels like to be banished and branded by those who follow the sport, as he heard plenty of criticism after missing weight three times while in his first stint with the UFC. The last of which led to his release.
