Luke Rockhold made no bones about who he wants next after submitting Tim Boetsch in a matter of minutes Saturday night at UFC 172.

“Vitor, I want my rematch,” Rockhold said. “I want to get a title shot, and what better way to earn it than Belfort.”

Belfort scored a knockout victory over Rockhold (12-2) last May in Brazil. Since that time, though, “The Phenom” has been forced to work his way off TRT.

On Saturday, it was all Rockhold, as the former Strikeforce middleweight champion won a scramble with Boetsch right off the start. He had a triangle choke locked up around the neck before transitioning to a kimura and earning his seven submission victory, but first since 2009.

“The reverse triangle is my bread-and-butter,” he said. “I come with it from different angles. I just had to get the right angle (for the kimura) and I got in the right position.”

Rockhold knows that Belfort is positioned to challenge for the UFC title, so he has a backup plan in place for his next fight, too.

“I have some personal business with Michael Bisping that I would love to settle,” he said.
