Luke Rockhold isn’t going to change anything about the way he approaches fights.

The former Strikeforce champion is going to remain focused on his camps at American Kickboxing Academy in California, all the while hyping and promoting himself the only way he knows how.

Rockhold can move closer to a possible middleweight title-eliminator with a win over Tim Boetsch this evening at UFC 172.

“I’m just realizing I’m going to be myself,” said Rockhold, earlier this week during media day (thanks to for the quotes). “I am who I am, love me or hate me. You got to let your personality go. This is me. I’m going to talk.”

Rockhold rebounded from a loss to Vitor Belfort in 2013 by finishing Costas Philippou in January to improve to 11-2 overall. He holds wins over notables such as Keith Jardine, Tim Kennedy and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

When it comes to self-promotion, Rockhold isn’t going to hold back. But, he also isn’t going to go to the Chael Sonnen-level.

“I’m not going to be fake at all,” he said. “Chael is awesome. You know he puts on a show. The guy lays it all out on paper. I’m not writing any rough drafts before interviews. This isn’t scripted. This is me.”
