Jim Alers took a book from the page of Conor McGregor, calling the Irish fighter out after his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 39 Friday.

Alers (13-1) earned a split decision over Alan Omer, earning his ninth consecutive victory.

“I want one guy,” Alers said. “McGregor, I’m coming for you.”

In making his Octagon debut, Alers had to survive numerous takedowns by Omer and some solid striking. The two featherweights had a handful of exchanges, but it was Alers controlling the third round.

“He is strong and has powerful punches,” Alers said. “I had to bring it to the ground.”

McGregor is rehabbing from knee surgery. He is expected to return later this year, with Cole Miller being rumored as his opponent.
