UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks is in a position of power now.

After claiming the belt with a decision victory over Robbie Lawler at UFC 171, “Bigg Rigg” can call his own shots.

While Hendricks has stated plans to let the UFC decide his contenders, that doesn’t mean there isn’t at least one person out there he wishes to see step inside the Octagon.

“There’s only one person I’d like to fight and I’m pretty sure everyone knows who that is,” said Hendricks, during an interview with MMAjunkie Radio Monday. “That’s Georges St-Pierre. I would like to get back into the Octagon with him.

“If that can happen, then I want that. That’s what I’m really shooting for.”

Last November, GSP won a split decision over Hendricks to remain champion. A month later, he vacated the belt and stepped away from competing to “clear his head.”

St-Pierre joined Hendricks on the radio program, and told him to stick around if he wanted another fight.

So far, the Canadian has remained quiet in regards to setting a return date.
