UFC president Dana White has no hard feelings towards Gilbert Melendez.

Melendez, who is currently waiting to see if the UFC matches the contract offer he received from Bellator recently, has some guys within his inner circle that White doesn’t enjoy the company of.

The former Strikeforce lightweight champion had his contract with Zuffa expire after a 2013 victory over Diego Sanchez. He was engaged in lengthy contract talks with White and the UFC before the boss stepped away.

“I like Gilbert,” said White, during his media scrum on Thursday promoting UFC 170. “We’ll see what happens. I’m not involved.

“Gilbert is out there testing the market, (which) is good for him. I don’t have any hard feelings for Gilbert Melendez, I’m just not a big fan of the guys who I was dealing with.”

White did make sure to give “El Nino” one piece of advice in regards to his thoughts on Bellator and the way they do business.

“If he (expletive) signs a deal with (expletive) those guys, he ain’t going anywhere,” White said. “Nobody can get out of those (expletive) deals they have.

“Everybody wants to talk about the UFC (and) how we’re bullies….they’re the (expletive) bullies.”
