Gegard Mousasi knows that Lyoto Machida can finish a fight with one swift move, as he has seen in studying tape of “The Dragon” against the likes of Randy Couture, Rashad Evans and Mark Munoz.

But, Mousasi doesn’t believe Machida’s power is something that come into play when they tangle tonight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 36.

“He’s a dangerous opponent,” said Mousasi, during a recent interview with “But he’s not really a hard-hitting fighter. If you don’t do anything stupid, he’s not going to be able to knock you out.”

Mousasi did admit he “can finish fights,” as evident by Machida’s eight knockout victories. Mousasi, though, owns 18 knockouts to his credit, and believes he knows how to avoid his opponent making him No. 9.

“I’m planning on fighting smart,” he said. “I’ve never been knocked out. I’m going to try (to finish Machida), but I don’t look for it.

If it comes, it comes. But I’m going to fight smart.”
