Ross Pearson spent Friday undergoing surgery for an injured leg, posting that he is awake and doing well on Twitter.

Pearson was expected to have a rematch with Melvin Guillard later this year after the two fought to a no-contest in October. That bout was shelved after the former Ultimate Fighter winner suffered the injury to his right knee in January.

Pearson (15-6) returned to the lightweight division in 2012 after a stint on The Ultimate Fighter as a coach, finishing George Sotiropoulos and Ryan Couture. He is targeting a return to action in May or June.
