Former UFC champion Rich Franklin has remained out of the Octagon since a loss over a year ago to Cung Le in China.

However, that doesn’t mean Franklin (29-7) has decided to hang up the gloves for good.

UFC president Dana White stated over the weekend that he is planning to meet with “Ace” in Las Vegas today to discuss his future.

“I talked to Rich Franklin a couple of days ago,” White said. “He can do whatever he wants to do (in terms of retiring or fighting).”

Franklin, who will reach the age of 40 next year, won the UFC middleweight title from Evan Tanner before falling to Anderson Silva. He also dropped a title-rematch to Silva.
