Jake Ellenberger is in need of a new fight after being forced out of his planned encounter with Tarec Saffiedine in January.

Carlos Condit remains in the same boat after Matt Brown was injured and knocked out.

So, Ellenberger feels there is no time like the present for the UFC to pair them up again in a welterweight showdown.

The two fought in 2009, with the former interim UFC welterweight champion scoring a split decision victory. That belt is now currently unoccupied after Georges St-Pierre vacated it.

UFC president Dana White mentioned over the weekend putting Condit on an upcoming card, possibly UFC 171.
