Joseph Benavidez knows it will take a super-human effort to take the belt away from Demetrious Johnson this weekend at UFC on FOX 9.

After going the distance with Johnson for the UFC flyweight title, Benavidez was on the wrong end of a split decision. He has since defeated Ian McCall, Darren Uyenoyama and Jussier Formiga to earn a rematch.

For Benavidez (19-3), the main difference in his fight game rests on the shoulders – and the mind – of Duane Ludwig, the head coach for Team Alpha Male.

“I feel good and I’m happy. I know I’m going to go out there and fight good,” said Benavidez, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “This time I’m really relaxed and calm. I’ve changed mentally, physically and technically as a fighter with Duane Ludwig coming in.”

Benavidez isn’t just looking for the highlight-reel knockout vs. “Mighty Mouse.” Instead, he’s focusing in on the fight going “anywhere.”

“There are just small, little things that we have to change from the first fight,” he added. “If the knockout is there, I’ll take it.”
