Daniel Cormier has signed a new multi-fight extension with the UFC, but he remains unsigned to a future bout.

It was reported on “UFC Tonight” that Cormier has inked the contract, believed to be for eight fights.

The former Olympian and ex-Strikeforce Grand Prix winner is planning a move down to light heavyweight, targeting a bout with former UFC champion Rashad Evans.

Nothing has been finalized, but both fighters appear content with the impending match up – one of which could determine a future contender to the title.
