Johny Hendricks Talks Loss to GSP, Lack of Punching Power, and Immediate Future

UFC welterweight Johny Hendricks suffered a devastating defeat this past weekend, though not in the fashion most folks might associate with such a heart-breaking loss. Rather than be finished or outclassed with ease by champion Georges St-Pierre, the bearded brawler actually earned the decision win in the eyes of nearly everyone outside of the judges’ panel. However, two scores went GSP’s way, and Hendricks was left to stew over having officially come up short. The 30-year recently sat down with The Dallas Morning News and discussed the situation in depth, offering up insight on how action went down in the Octagon and what his next move may be. • Screenplaya says:

    Dear Johnny,

GSP is the champ, and you are the challenger. It is your job to “straight up” beat him, not the other way around. Also, if your corner was so sure you had won the fight, why could they clearly be heard telling you that you probably needed to win round 5?

  • AlphaOmega says:

I like how he’s making excuses for why he backed up when he had GSP on his back and hurt, oh no I didn’t want to ground and pound him out and for sure win the fight, I decided to back up and let the judges decide for me. No, you were afraid GSP would lock in a submission, like he’d already attempted twice that fight.

  • darth_irritable says:

The more I hear Hendricks talk, the bigger a douche he seems to be.

  • SBERG says:

They should ban him from having a spit bottle at the post fight pressers….that’s just gross…
Hope ya like gum cancer Johny, keep chewin that crap and your on your way…
