It wasn’t the main event, or even the co-main event, but Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald got the UFC brothers talking Saturday night.

Lawler earned a split decision victory over MacDonald at UFC 167, likely vaulting himself up the welterweight rankings.

“That was the right decision,” Matt Brown posted on Twitter. “Robbie Lawler won that fight. And he’s top 5 ‘must watch’ fighters in the UFC.”

Roy Nelson echoed those thoughts, posting, “Robbie pulled that one out in the third. He came to fight. Left it on the mat.”

A couple of fighters, though, took shots at MacDonald for his lack of trying to finish the fight – something he has been criticized for in the past.

“Weeek macdonalds (expletive) up,” wrote Nate Diaz, in reference to what MacDonald said was an eye poke that seemed to not exist on replay.

Diego Sanchez added “worlds most boring style” while including MacDonald’s Twitter account and said he was “so so happy just did my happy dance.”
