UFC president Dana White was asked about Nick Diaz, the retired former UFC welterweight title contender, Saturday night.

“He is retired,” said White, following the UFC Fight Night 32 post-fight press conference. “I was going to offer him a fight.”

Diaz retired following a March decision loss to Georges St-Pierre for the title. He is a former Strikeforce champion, and had previously announced his retirement before.

White declined to provide who the opponent would have been had Diaz agreed to return. Rumors floated around this summer that the fighter was set on competing again, but nothing came of it.
