Former interim UFC heavyweight champion Shane Carwin still has that desire to get back inside the Octagon.

After back, neck and other injuries, though, the 38-year-old Carwin knows retirement remains his best decision yet.

Following back-to-back losses to Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos, Carwin (12-2) did his best to recover from his series of injuries, but was never able to compete again. He was asked on Twitter recently regarding any desire to fight once more.

“I’m itching to fight, can’t stand (retirement),” he wrote.

Carwin was also asked about his match with Lesnar, a fight he was winning until succumbing to a second round submission, and if he would like to rematch him if ever given the chance.

“Dream come true (a rematch would be)!” Carwin wrote. “I knock him down and say get up (expletive) and knock him down again…and again…and again (on what he would do different).”
