Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares has been forced to withdraw from a planned jiu-jitsu match with Dean Lister later this month due to an injury.
Palhares and Lister were set for the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo on November 10 from Long Beach, California.
“He has a shoulder injury and is a little overweight, said Alexis Davis, Palhares’ manager, in an interview with MMAFighting.com. “The main reason why he decided to pull out of the fight is because of the injury.”
Palhares, of course, was released by the UFC after holding on to a heel hook against Mike Pyle for too long recently. The move cost him a fight-night bonus and a job with the top MMA promotion in the world.
