Original Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Sanchez made his long awaited return to lightweight in March, narrowly outpointing Takanori Gomi in a performance giving some doubt about his future prospects in the division. However, Sanchez has shrugged off the criticism and plans to showcase his true skill-set against Gilbert Melendez this weekend at UFC 166. According to “The Dream”, he is healthier than he’s ever been before and expects to “make that magic” happen with Melendez when they mix it up in Houston. Sanchez recently spoke to UFC.com, talking about fighting a guy he respects and has personal history with like Melendez, as well as what a win would mean for his career and why he’s so confident coming into the clash.
