Italy will be battling England on October 26, though not on the pitch as soccer fans might have hoped. Rather, UFC middleweights Alessio Sakara and Tom Watson will represent their respective homelands when they square off against one another at UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester.
UFC officials have confirmed the clash’s addition to the card.
Sakara has called the Octagon home for eight years, compiling wins over James Irvin and Thales Leites along the way. He holds an overall record of 15-10 with nine knockouts to his credit.
“Kong” Watson is 16-6 with eight strike-based stoppages of his own. Among his biggest past victories are those over Murilo Rua, Stanislav Nedkov, and Matt Horwich.
UFC Fight Night 30 is headlined by Michael Bisping’s return to the United Kingdom for a meeting with Mark Munoz. Fights between Paul Taylor-Anthony Njokuani and Ross Pearson-Melvin Guillard have also been attached to the event.
