Two UFC veterans in need of a win appear destined to duke it out on October 9 in the form of light heavyweights Thiago Silva and Matt Hamill. Both men are coming off wins and looking to re-establish themselves in the division after a rough patch littered with losses.

Though not confirmed by UFC officials, a bout between the two was reported by Knockout Radio. The match-up would serve as part of the main card for UFC Fight Night 29 in Brazil.

Silva (15-3) picked up an opening round knockout win over Rafael Cavalcante in June. The performance marked the twelfth TKO of his career and fourteenth finish overall.

The 11-4 Hamill returned after a brief retirement to beat Roger Hollett earlier this year. He also owns notable wins over Keith Jardine, Mark Munoz, and Tito Ortiz.
