Welterweight Jason High has another chance to earn his first victory inside the Octagon on tap for next month, as “The Kansas City Bandit” has agreed to August 28 action against James Head despite the short notice. High has come up short in two other attempts to have his hand raised inside the infamous eight-sided cage despite solid success outside of the organization. Head was originally booked for a bout with Roger Bowling before the latter was snatched up to serve as a replacement against Robbie Lawler at UFC on FOX 8.

FOX Sports was first to report High’s role in filling the vacancy. The scrap is scheduled to take place at UFC Fight Night:  Condit vs. Kampmann II in Indianapolis and will air on FOX Sports 1.

The 16-4 High had a seven-fight winning streak snapped last month by Erick Silva. Prior to the stumble he’d earned victories over some solid opposition including Jordan Mein.

Head (9-3) is also coming off a loss after picking up back-to-back triumphs over Papy Abedi and Brian Ebersole. Seven of his wins have featured some form of finish.
