One of the featured fights on next month’s lineup for UFC 163 has fallen apart as a result of an injury to welterweight Josh Koscheck. Koscheck was scheduled to face Demian Maia on the PPV portion of the August 3 card but has been forced to withdraw due to his health-related woes. The bout is expected to be rescheduled for a future date rather than a replacement being found for the Ultimate Fighter alumnus.

UFC officials have confirmed the change.

The 17-7 Koscheck is currently dealing with the first losing streak of his career after falling to Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler in consecutive clashes. No details were provided on the nature of his injury or when he is expected to be back up to speed.
