After months of speculation and suggestion it looks like UFC fighter Hector Lombard has finally made a decision about the future of his fighting career. And, to the delight of countless fans, it looks like the former Bellator champion will indeed move down to 170 pounds instead of continuing on as an undersized middleweight.

Confirmation of Lombard’s decision was offered on UFC Tonight where it was also reported that the 35-year old wants to make his divisional debut against Nate Marquardt.

Lombard has compiled an impressive 32-4-1 mark in his career including 25 wins in a row before signing with the UFC. However, he’s dropped two of three tilts in the Octagon despite both coming against top contenders and involving a Split Decision. 25 of his victories have featured some form of stoppage including eighteen TKOs.
