It wasn’t long ago lightweights Tyson Griffin and Gesias Cavalcante were seen as two potential-laden prospects. While both fighters are still certainly talented, injuries combined with a handful of disappointing defeats have resulted in each seeking scraps outside of the Octagon. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and in a few months fans will have a chance to see the two throw down on free television thanks to WSOF 4.

According to multiple reports, Griffin and Cavalcante are set to collide at the August 10 event. TATAME was first to reveal the rumble.

Griffin is 16-6 with successful showings against the likes of Clay Guida, Thiago Tavares, Gleison Tibau, and Urijah Faber. He was last seen scoring a decision win over TUF 8 winner Efrain Escudero in November.

The 17-7-1 Cavalcante has finished thirteen foes in his career. He is 1-1 under the WSOF banner including a submission of T.J. O’Brien.

WSOF 4 is set to take place in Ontario, California. No other match-ups have been attached to the card.
