The UFC already has one Irishman booked for the organization’s August 17 stop in Boston and, if welterweight Cathal Pendred gets his way, that number will increase in the coming weeks. The 25-year old Pendred hails from Dublin and is hoping his overall record combined with his heritage and a recent win over Octagon veteran Che Mills will be enough to land him a coveted spot on UFC on FS 1 for his promotional debut.

Pendred called for the opportunity after beating Mills by TKO over the weekend, donning a shirt with his name and the UFC logo after his victory while pleading to UFC President Dana White for an opportunity to shine in the Octagon.

“The Punisher” is 7-0-1 since 2010 including wins over Bruno Carvalho and David Bielkheden. He holds an overall mark of 13-2-1 with six strike-based stoppages to his credit. He is also currently CWFC welterweight champ.
