TUF 18 LogoThe UFC is breaking new ground later this year based on the company’s decision to include females on the Ultimate Fighter 18, marking the first time the long-running reality franchise has featured women in both competitive and coaching roles. Based on the importance of the opportunity, a who’s who of available fighters showed up for auditions and it appears many of them made their way past the final cut.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer/MMAFighting, notable names like Roxanne Modafferi, Tonya Evinger, and Shayna Baszler will show up this season as will Tara LaRosa. However, some speculation remains on LaRosa’s actual involvement, as the 35-year old apparently ran into an issue with her age in terms of the casting process.

TUF 18 is scheduled to premiere on September 4 and will move from FX to FOX Sports 1. Bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey will coach a squad of eight women and eight men, all 135 pounders, against top contender Cat Zingano’s team with the goal of creating an Ultimate Fighter champ in each division.
