Longtime UFC lightweight Sam Stout welcomed former Strikeforce fighter Caros Fodor to the Octagon last month, narrowly outpointing the talented youngster. In his next scrap, Stout will have another chance to crush the dreams of a competitor previously calling Strikeforce home, as UFC officials recently revealed “Hands of Stone” will be facing Isaac Vallie-Flagg at UFC 161.
The June 15 event is scheduled for Winnipeg with a headlining title-fight between interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao and well-rounded finisher Eddie Wineland.
The 19-8-1 Stout has compiled a 4-2 mark in his last six fights including success against Spencer Fisher and Yves Edwards. Nine of his wins have included some form of knockout, though he’s only served up one strike-based stoppage in fifteen appearances under the UFC banner.
Vallie-Flagg took out Edwards at UFC 156 in his UFC debut to earn his fifth straight victory. He holds an overall record of 14-3-1 and hasn’t lost in more than five years.
