It turns out the third time wasn’t a charm for middleweight Michael Kuiper after UFC officials revealed opponent Josh Janousek had pulled out of a planned pairing at UFC on FOX 6 fight due to injury. Janousek was the fourth opponent Kupier had been handed for a clash after earlier bouts with Thiago Perpetuo, Caio Magalhaes, and Buddy Roberts also fell apart for health-related reasons.

No specifics were offered on Janousek’s condition. With less than a week left before the card unfolds no replacement will be sought.

Kuiper (12-1) hasn’t seen action since an August TKO of Jared Hamman. The win was his first in the Octagon and seventh by way of a strike-based stoppage.

Kuper-Janousek was scheduled for the preliminary portion of UFC on FOX 6 meaning the main card will not be affected by the change.
